Ayam Penyet Express

Across the archipelago of Indonesia, one can find a vast variety of Indonesian cultures and of course come together with it the many various types of rich-in-taste and mouth-watering local delicacies. With its geographic proximity to neighbouring cultures with similar tastes, Indonesian delicacies are gaining huge popularity, especially in the Malaysian market.

To satisfy this demand and to pursue our passion, Penyet Express was incorporated in the year 2009 and has since received a warm welcome by its Malaysian patrons. From its humble beginnings as a small street stall in the 1990 serving Ayam Penyet (a popular East Javanese Local Cuisine), the business has since expanded to become a popular favourite with customers looking for authentic local Indonesian cuisine and leave its mark across the nation with its interesting set meals. Today, the company serves more than 3,000 customers.

As the growing popularity for Ayam Penyet continues to sweep across Southeast Asia, numerous restaurant chains have opened up to capitalise on the trend and serve this Indonesian classic as well as other traditional delicacies. Today, the Ayam Penyet Express group comprises a wide network of restaurants strategically located in major shopping malls, business and residential areas across all markets in Malaysia.
Also known as the ‘Indonesian Fried Chicken’, the strong flavours of our Ayam Penyet combines a rich texture to satisfy all the deepest cravings. Each and every Penyet Express Restaurant offers tantalizing authentic East Javanese cuisine, making it a popular, timeless favourite.

At Penyet Express, we are defined by our quality and authenticity. As such, we marinate our chicken with traditional herbs and spices for at least 6 hours to let the flavours seep before it is fried to golden perfection. The blend of traditional taste and the use of our famous crispy batter and sambal sauce will be enough to tantalize any curious taste buds, which is further enhanced by tenderized meat using a traditional hammer-like tool called ‘uleg’ to soften its texture.
